The purpose of Temenos Education Ltd is to offer training and development based in the principles and philosophy of the person-centred approach originally developed by Carl Rogers and subsequently by other theorists and practitioners.

Temenos exists to provide a particular kind of learning environment: an interpersonal and a physical space in which individuals are able to learn what they need to learn through a self-determined, non-prescriptive process; an environment in which people have an experience of belonging and of their own presence as autonomous individuals; and a learning experience that is both appropriate to the individual’s needs and relevant to their life in the wider world and the world of professional counselling practice.

Temenos Education Ltd aims to achieve these objectives by providing professional training in counselling and supervision and development opportunities in the form of workshops and seminars.  Temenos is also exploring the potential of new media to create a virtual learning space.  In order to facilitate opportunities for trainees to practice and to deploy the benefits of person-centred practice in the community Temenos will also seek to establish a low cost counselling service for people who need it.
