ACP France & Temenos Annual Spring Encounter Group

ACP France has been organising an experiential seminar every year for 17 years based on meeting and sharing in understanding, respect and listening.

This will be the third workshop that is organised in collaboration with Temenos Education Ltd.

Next workshop: from 8 to 12 May 2019, in Sète.

About the Workshop

The annual workshop is organised in collaboration with Temenos Education. It has an international purpose, with two official languages, French and English (official translation planned), and Spanish as the third language in 2019.
We hope that this seminar is the result of a co-creation between all the participants. Each person participates in the workshop by their presence and way of being and if they wish, by offering a workshop. The seminar process is a shared responsibility.

This residential annual event is held in the spring for 5 days.

In 2019, it will take place from Wednesday, May 8 at 14:30 to Sunday, May 12 at 14:30, after lunch.

In the morning (from 9h to 10h) and in the evening (after dinner), spaces are open for activities proposed by participants and facilitators: workshops, conferences, roundtables and think tanks.

So, share your passion by proposing an activity, discover your specialty! Please send your proposals by clicking here.

The seminar is facilitated by several French and international facilitators including John Wilson, the Temenos Director and Fabienne Chazeaux who is part of both the Temenos and the ACP France facilitation team (to find out more about the ACP-France facilitators, click here).

A regulation group facilitated by a member of the staff takes place every evening after dinner for those who would feel the need for it.

The two official languages are French and English in simultaneous translation. For Castilian, bilingual French / Spanish participants will be present and will be able to ensure the translation.

Sète is 3h40 from Paris by direct TGV.

The workshop is residential which means that participants stay and eat their meals on site. In May 2019, it will be held in Sète (Hérault) in the birthplace of Brassens and Paul Valéry.
The group will be hosted in Le Lazaret which is superbly located in a huge shaded park facing the sea :

The encounter group is above all an experience of the other in their difference, but also an experience of oneself in relation with others and with the world. It is a meeting place based on the principle of non-directivity, each person has the opportunity to take their place, to experience their own power in respect of the other, to be heard and to thus influence the process of the group.

This can be possible thanks to the aspiration to freedom of being that can be in this workshop. Part of the role of the facilitators is to contribute to the creation of this climate of respect, trust and security. Their function is, as their name implies, to facilitate interactions between people and the group process.

I never thought about these workshops in ordinary, superficial or even professional terms. I think of them as having potentially profound international significance. If it is possible to meet and discover each other as people, to mutually empathize, and to understand both the cultural beliefs and political opinions of each other, then I think that our dark future can be penetrated by a few rays of light, and that we can reasonably expect a better world.
