Staff Biographies

 

Keemar Keemar - Dip. Counselling, Dip. Supervision, Cert. Training, Cert. Mediation. MBACP(accred), UKRCP Reg. Ind.

Keemar worked in the hospitality industry before making a major career change to the field of counselling and human development. He worked for five years in the hospice movement where he managed a Day Hospice, linked to an inpatient unit, for young adults with terminal disease. After gaining extensive counselling experience in the voluntary sector Keemar managed a Staff Counselling Service in the NHS which provided individual counselling, mediation and organisational training and devolpment. He now has a private practice in Sheffield offering counselling and clinical and organisational supervision. He is co-author of The Person-Centred Approach: A Contemporary Introduction (Palgrave, 2004).

 

Colin Lago

Colin Lago has worked as a therapist since qualifying in 1977. He was Director of the Counselling Service at the University of Sheffield, U.K., from 1987 – 2003. He now works as an independent counsellor, trainer, supervisor and consultant. Trained initially as an engineer, Colin went on to become a full time youth worker in London and a teacher in Jamaica before becoming a counselling practitioner. He is a Fellow of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy, an accredited counsellor and trainer and UKRC registered practitioner.
